MOUNTAIN BIKING: Newport News Park

← VA STORM DRAIN LAKEWOOD PK DR NEAR NEWPORT NEWS VA Single Tracks →

Description

A beginner trail on flat, easy forest roads, about 6 miles. There are several branching trails that were closed (I rode Dec. 27, 2003) . This is suppose to be a scenic trail but since the hurricane there are hundreds of trees down. To get a work out on this trail I rode it twice and tried to keep a 12-15 mph speed. I would only ride again to see the historical sites that were closed due to down trees.

Directions

From VA Beach, I 64 west to exit 250 on Fort Eustis Blvd. (Route 105) heading east. Immediately turn left on Jefferson Ave. (Route 143) nd cross over the City Reservoir. Go about 1 mle to Newport News Park's second entrance. There are signs for the trail.
